I have found love in all the places without looking for it—

in sounds of laughter, in the warmth of the sun through my window,

and the grass that makes room for me to lie down.

I see it in the way the leaves cling onto the trees,

or how they collect even after the breeze,

watching and waiting for spring to return.

I have found love in all the places—

the way my mother carries me,

the womb of life I rely heavily,

upon the back of my grandfather, who made it possible for me.

I feel it all around.

I hear it when it’s silent…

I stumble upon it when I least expect,

always waiting to find me.
